The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

These results are a compilation of both local and remote beta tester reports. The accuracy of these reports are not guaranteed.

works with efax 0.9
does not work with efax 0.8 (but we do work fine with 0.9)
DSP communication is dead sometimes. freezups may occure if the driver is opened or closed. The computer needs rebooted for the card to reset. safety code was added to stop initialization of driver if this occures.
possibly connect with Power Managment.

ppp dialup works with wvdail and kppp driver is no kernel 2.4.0 ready

can establish a v90 connection exit without reset not working with modem. modem resets regardless of user request

driver compiles on 2.2.12, 2.2.13, 2.2.14, 2.2.15 (debian) , 2.2.16 isp connection hangs up sometimes on first connect attempt (seems to be very rare)

open driver/ closed core source code distribution w3 rate reporting wrong

works on Redhat 6.1 and 6.2
some IOCTL's still not impletmeted

get and set serial info ioctls not implemented causing setserial to fail.

works on SuSe 7.0 must atz to restore saved profile after opening the modem.

ppp dialup works with chat issues with Corel 2nd ed.
include files are for kernel 2.2.15 but running kernel is 2.2.16. this means that compiling the driver in corel will produce a module with a kernel version mismatch.

sample ISP scripts are available Corel barely installs anything on a full install. Thus there is no minicom or efax or wvdial.

Install and auto boot scripts recognizes various distributions.

for Corel distribution:
#include<linux/modversions.h> needs to be commented out in hamdefs.h since it does not exist in this distribution.

Country slection and eeprom data persists
between sesssions and reboot driver does not support multi processor kernels. (kernels with SMP turned on)

works on Corel 2nd edition (minicom and kppp ) Some distributions ship with SMP turned on. Driver seems to work ok with SMP on in SuSE 7.0 but not with Caldera.

works on Mandrake 7.1 (2.2.15-4mdk) hamcfg needs "libgnomeui.so.32" to run

works on Conectiva distribution
